Track Name: You Were My Favorite
Started off when we were young,
Before you left this town.
You never left my heart,
And partin’ paths was way too hard.

Started off one night we talked,
All those hours in the dark,
I wish I told you once.

All the ones I’ve seen
Never, never compare,
You were my favorite.

Tried to date a couple girls,
Learned I loved you even more.
And I compared them, too.
Tried to find another you.

Went out to a coffee shop,
Talked for hours in the light.
When I’m 65,
I wish I told you.

All the ones I’ve seen
Never, never compare,
You were my favorite.

All the ones I’ve known,
Never, never compare
You were my favorite

I still can’t get you out of my head.
All this time,
What I've meant to say,
All this time,
Is that never, never...

All the ones I’ve seen
Never, never compare,
You were my favorite.

All the ones I’ve known,
Never, never compare,
They never, never compare.
Track Name: Ain't No Illusion
Ain’t no illusion
Where you stand
You got a right
To say what you want
Ain’t no surprise
With people like you
This broken world
It ain’t changin’ soon.

Ain’t no illusion
It’s worldwide
You separate anyone
And pick your side
You conform to where
You feel safe
You think you’re better
But we’re all the same.

I look around now
Some people, they never change
I look around now
Ain’t no illusion,
It’s a broken world.

Ain’t no illusion
Why you’re flawed
You think fightin’
Would change the world
If you had the chance to fight your fears
You’d start a war with most anyone.

I look around now
Some people, they never change
I look around now
Ain’t no illusion,
It’s a broken world.

There’s a better world
That’s comin soon
I will be there
I will be there

Where change has come
One by one
I will be there
I will be there

You’re the reason why
It’s a broken world
Stay behind me
I will be there

Caz when there’s a better world
Far less broken world
I will be there.
Track Name: Only You and I
Only you and I,
We seem to understand,
Why you do the things you do
And I act the way I am.

Only you and I,
We care for each other.
When our lives are black and blue at times,
You help me understand.

Only you and I,
You got me, you got me
Only you and I,
I got you
Deep inside of my heart

Only you and I,
We’re on the same road,
Walkin’, headed somewhere that’s brighter.
We’ll get there together.

Only you and I,
I stand beside you.
When I’m lost,
When I’m hurt,
When this world brings me down
You got me, you got me.

Only you and I,
You got me, you got me
Only you and I,
I got you
Deep inside of my heart

I have waited for you,
Since I was younger, younger.

You make me always feel like,
We’re not old, no, we’re not old.

Only you and I,
You got me, you got me
Only you and I,
I got you
Deep inside of my heart.
Track Name: Won't Let You Take Me Down
I won’t be no warrior,
Troubled lines,
They pass me by.
I won’t try to bore you,
My mind,
Ain’t strong like yours.

And I know,
But can’t get through to you
The blows
Oh no, they ain’t welcome here.

If you keep on stabbin’,
I will float,
But I won’t sting.
Caz if I drew my sword too,
Shorter would my dagger be.

On the sun,
I’ll be glidin,
I won’t fall on down,
‘Till my time here has caved in.
Hold on for as long as I can,
But I won’t let you take me down.

I look up for answers,
The sky,
The brighter side.
I won’t be the one to,
Lower down,
Into the hole.

And I know
Won’t you stop it?
Your show,
Oh no, it ain’t welcome here!

If I keep on starrin’
Up high,
I will ascend.
I will tumble gladly,
When I feel,
That I’ve been wrong.

On the sun,
I’ll be glidin,
I won’t fall on down,
‘Till my time here has caved in.
Hold on for as long as I can,
But I won’t let you take me down.
Track Name: Charlie's Tune
Charlie rides every weekend,
Takes his trumpet to play on the streets.
Every night he writes a new song,
To share with the drifters that he meets.

Same each day in his work week,
Same old clients, little town.
Little box near his desk lamp,
Holds the money for his travel 'rounds.

Years before he was seein',
His girl from out of town.
And that box held the money,
For the ring he was gonna buy.

Years before he was drivin',
With that ring tucked in his suit.
Parked back at his place,
And all he heard was this tune.
And Charlie cried.

40 states,
Hundreds of tickets.
Saving memories from the past.
Photographs cover the white walls,
Of the bus rides he would catch.

In the news,
Stood a poor boy.
Begged for food out on Main Street.
Thousand bucks, given him yesterday,
By a man with a trumpet and a cane.

Years before he approached her,
And kissed her on the cheek.
She said they're in different places,
And asked him please to leave.

Years before he was happy,
Just to be with her.
And now it's the travelin',
That quiets his broken heart.
